Each entry shows Peng'im, the standard romanization (tone numbers 1 to 8, Shantou pronunciation), and a sounds like line, an automatic rough spelling for people who grew up hearing the language rather than reading it. Sounds-like is approximate by design; your family may say it differently, and we'd like to hear how. Tell us.

Where this comes from. The entries are from teochew-works/teochew-dictionary, an open lexicon of Teochew maintained by volunteers, which in turn draws most of its entries from Wiktionary contributors. We include only the entries that project has marked as reviewed. The data on this page is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0; you're free to reuse it with the same attribution. Found a mistake? The fix belongs upstream: open an issue there and everyone benefits.
